Goals
The Fair Trade project was begun, expanded, and has been managed by members of the Green Sanctuary Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Frederick, MD, primarily as a vehicle for consciousness raising in the areas of Environmental Justice and Sustainable Living. Our goals are
- to educate the congregation and community about environmental justice & sustainable living,
- to promote ethically produced products that support a sustainable lifestyle
- to promote locally produced products whenever possible because Fair Trade begins at home!
- to directly support environmental justice by selling fairly traded merchandise
- to support social justice by advocating responsible shopping and supporting ethical sourcing and a fair supply chain.
